Children & Youth
On this page you will find information about our activities for young people:
Sunday Mornings
...our all-age service takes place every Sunday morning at 10.30am where we have an array of innovative speakers either from in house or different churches across the region. All our services are family friendly and there are a good array of crafts, games and activities to keep children busy while they listen. Children also have the option to use our upstairs rooms where there is a creche and a Sunday school room. Small children should be accompanied by an adult. Structured Sunday school sessions are available. We also have specific interactive services which are aimed at children and young people. More about our Sunday service.
Dinkies
...is our thriving under 5's stay and play toddler group which takes place every other term time Friday morning 10-11.30am. You can drop in with your little ones any time you like. We have a good selection of toys, puzzles, games and ride on's; plus a well equiped baby section, and the first 45 minutes is spent in free play. Parents and carers have the opportunity to chat, make friends and drink tea and coffee. We also have a good selection of cakes and biscuits. At around 10.50am we encourage "tidy-up time" which the children participate in, and we set up tables and chairs for snack time where older children help bring out the snacks, water and squash for their friends. We have a good array of snacks each session and cater for any food intolerances that we are informed of. We then finish with songs and sometimes a story. We always acknowledge any birthdays and make a fuss of the child (or adult) in question. Contact us.
Blaze Youth Club
...runs on selected term time Friday evenings from 5pm and is suitable for children age 6 up to teens. A standard session will run for an hour, and we will have games and crafts out, and either table tennis or table football. A snack and drink is included, and occasionally we will have a simple cooking activity, painting or some gardening with Jan.
From time to time, we have another facilitator who will visit us from a differenet church; and run an exciting activity. We always have Christian literature around for the children to look at and on occasions there will be a structured message, bible story or activity. At the end of term, or during seasonal times we will have "Blaze specials" where we extend the session to an hour and a half and everyone brings some food to contribute to a bring and share tea. We will also have themed activities and games. Contact us.Neurodiversi-Tea Natters
...is a coffee morning which runs on selected term time Monday mornings 10-11.30am and allows parents and carers of children with additional needs of any kind to drop in and chat to us and each other. Although this is an adult event, babies, pre-schoolers and home schooled children are also welcome and we ensure there are age appropriate resources available to them. We also have speakers visit from relevant charities and organisations who offer tips and advice. This is run by dyslexia specialist Kate Morris and Emily Hastings.
